Goldfish-babies

The day after our return from Sylt hubby discovered something in the pond: besides our five goldfish and three shubunkin (which are a goldfish-variety) are tiny little baby-fish! Too cute! And what a compliment to the pond, obviously the fish are happy enough to share it with a next generation. One day though this environment will be too small for all of them, but we’ll wait at least as long as all of them have turned golden goldfish (’cause they start as almost black little fish, didn’t know that before). Shubunkin don’t change colour, so the little ones are easier to see right now. Here there are some of the family:

Am Tag nach unserer Rückkehr von Sylt entdeckte der Göga etwas im Teich: außer den fünf Goldfischen und drei Shubunkin (eine Goldfisch-Art) sind klitzkleine Baby-Fische! Entzückend! Und was für ein Kompliment an den Teich, offenkundig sind die Fische glücklich genug um ihn mit der nächsten Generation zu teilen. Allerdings wird der Teich wohl eines Tages zu klein für sie alle sein, aber wir werden mindestens warten, bis alle zu goldenen Goldfischen geworden sind ( denn junge Goldies sind beinahe schwarz, ich wusste das vorher nicht). Shubunkin wechseln die Farbe nicht, also sind sie zur Zeit leichter zu sehen. Oben sieht man einen Teil der Familie und auch ein paar schwarze Goldfische.
