Lotus tunic II

Aaaand: this morning I finally finished the Lotus Tunic! I had thought it was a one-weekend, straightforward project, but it wasn’t. I underestimated the time needed to sew the lining and the sleeves, and frankly, in between I lost motivation. But now it is finished and wearable, and perhaps I can persuade my family to come with me and show it off at a garden-fair: garden Tadaa! Here it is:

Uuuund: heute morgen habe ich endlich die Lotus Tunika fertig gestellt. I hatte gedacht, dass das ein Wochenend-Projekt sein würde, aber das war’s nicht. Ich hatte die Nähzeit für das Futter und die gekräuselten Ärmel unterschätzt, und offen gesagt hatte ich zwischendurch auch etwas die Lust verloren. Aber jetzt ist’s fertig und tragbar und vielleicht kann ich meine Familie überreden, sie beim Gartenzauber gardenspazieren zu tragen. Tataa! Hier ist sie: 

DaWanda-meeting / DaWanda-Treffen

Yesterday was the first privately organized meeting of DaWanda-sellers in Hamburg. I had been to a previous one in Hannover in early March and I thought I’d meet some of the people again, but instead there were new faces: Ute (Kreativine), who had generously organized everything, Petra (Paulina), Gila (Strumpfkunst), Anne (Schnurzelbaby), Sabine (SchmuckeBine), Heike (tueddelie) and last not least Elisa (elisa). We had loads of nice food, interesting chats and products to see and I had brought along the buttoncovermachine, so the girls had something to play with ;-))

Gestern war das erste privat organisierte DaWanda-Treffen in Hamburg. Ich war beim Treffen in Hannover Anfang März und dachte, einige Leute wieder zu treffen, aber dafür gab’s neue Gesichter: Ute (Kreativine), die alles so großzügig organisiert hatte, Petra (Paulina), Gila (Strumpfkunst), Anne (Schnurzelbaby), Sabine (SchmuckeBine), Heike (tueddelie) und last not least Elisa (elisa). Es gab viel leckeres Essen, anregende Gespräche und Produkte zu sehen und ich hatte die Knopfbeziehmaschine mitgebracht, damit die Mädels was zu spielen hatten ;-))

themepark-fun / Vergnügungspark-Vergnügen

Having a long weekend off is like little holidays. So, of a special request by a very much loved one, we went to Hansapark on Friday. Last time I was there is about 30 years ago, it was like going there for the first time. We’ve been to some themeparks the last few years, so of course we compare. This one at the Baltic Sea seemed to be relatively small and not too exciting at first sight. But we got to like it a lot, the food isn’t overpriced, you don’t have too long walks, and, we thought best: there are a lot of activities you can do yourselves. It is more than just sitting somewhere in a carriage and waiting for the thrill (besides, we’re not fans of extreme rollercoaster-rides), it has a safe but nevertheless demanding high-ropes-course and various other opportunities to climb, to participate or get wet. And for our son to encounter the first real pinball in his life.

 

Ein langes Wochenende ist wie kleine Ferien. Also sind wir auf besonderen Wunsch eines besonders Geliebten in den Hansapark gefahren. Das letzte Mal, dass ich da war, liegt etwa 30 Jahre zurück, daher war’s wie ein erster Besuch. In den letzten Jahren waren wir schon in einigen Vergnügungsparks, daher vergleichen wir schon. Zunächst wirkt das Hansaland relativ klein und unaufregend, aber so nach und nach haben wir es zu schätzen gelernt. Das Essen ist nicht überteuert, die Wege kurz und das Beste: man kann vieles selber mitmachen. Man sitzt nicht einfach nur in irgendeinem Wagen und wartet auf den Schocker (zumal wir keine Fans extremer Achterbahnen sind), es gibt einen sicheren und dennoch anspruchsvollen Hochseilgarten, mehrere Möglichkeiten zu klettern, mitzumachen und nass zu werden. Und für unseren Sohn das erste Mal im Leben einen echten Flipper zu sehen.
